A working-dog life
Passion became practice.
Demetrius says his connection to dogs began at four years old. His move into professional training was shaped by the support of dog trainer Jerry Barnes and later by Curtis Hearn—mentors who helped turn a lifelong interest into focused work.
Certified in 2020, Demetrius built Oneway Kennels in Phenix City around the hours that happen away from the spotlight: reading the dog, building clear communication, and staying with the process until the work is reliable.
